Bill Gates's and Steve Jobs's Real Gift To Us
09.02.12
For those of us in the activity, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs left a lasting legacy when they liberated advice technology workers from the tyranny of the business suit. Because of their insistence on unaffected wear, all of us have been able to dress comfortably since at least the 1990s.
These men were motivated variously with politeness to clothing. Steve Jobs hated buttons. His shirts had none, and his products, few.
In the near the start days, Bill Gates wore shirts with few buttons. He was seen frankly in t-shirts, or combine polos with up to three buttons below a modest collar. In his praiseworthy arrest photo he has some god-awful sweater over what appears to be a lenient of flower-child shirt with a weird high collar. Donn his Harvard affiliation, he also sometimes wore oxfords, often with the sleeves partially rolled, but never a tie. In besides, Gates had a reputation early on — before Melinda got a sustain of him — for sketchy hygiene as well as general scruffiness.
