Man charged after allegedly breaking convenience store window, stealing cigarettes
BATH, Maine — Bath the gendarmes charged a 19-year-old man with felony burglary following a Friday morning separate oneself a demolish-in at a Clipper Mart.
Alexander P. Smith, 19, of Bath was charged with the Breeding C felony after police say he threw a rock through a glass window at the convenience cumulate on Leeman Highway and then crawled into the building and stole cigarettes.
Bath watch Officer Ted Raedel responded to the store just after 3:30 a.m. Friday, after a newspaper liberation person noticed the broken window, Bath protect Lt. Stan Cielinski said Wednesday.
Surveillance video allegedly showed a suspected wearing red Converse sneakers jumping over the counter and taking cigarettes, then leaving through a bottom exit and dropping a few packs.
According to Cielinski, Raedel worked again the next nightfall, and at about 2 a.m. Saturday drove by the rear exit and saw two people smoking on a about porch on Court Street.
