What To Watch On TV This Week: 'Hell On Wheels,' 'Pan Am,' 'Two And A Half Men'
07.02.12
Back in college, I developed a whopping crush on a woman I'd met while working on the school paper. She was classy and hot. I was the guy who wore Converse high-tops and Steve Miller Bandeau t-shirt on dates. Still, I felt I would do anything to be with her. Until I discovered her secret requirement, which proved to be just too freaky for me. She loved going to any moving picture that was a period piece. Victorian era. Pre-revolution America. The Renewal. If it was set in the past, she had to go. And I just couldn't. At least at the time, I couldn't take sitting through movies in worlds that looked nothing like the one I lived in. And didn't highlight car chases or explosions. It's shocking that relationship didn't profession out but if by some chance she's out there right now reading this, here are three period piece TV series that might be of interest this week.

CherryCase brings the charm with latest acoustic album
07.02.12
Columbia-born orchestra CherryCase — which made its mark in the USC music scene in the past twosome of years — is best known for its more acoustic-based sets that goo an infectious, love song–laden charisma. Front man and USC alumnus Jake Etheridge won over the part with his sweet smile, Converse high tops and easy-going flair.
Now, having made the move to the one and only music megalopolis Nashville, Tenn., in July, Etheridge — along with the other half to the elegance, Taylor Desseyn — have been hard at work script new songs, performing in their new home and most recently releasing a new album, “July Acoustic Sessions,” on Oct. 28.
The latest CherryCase showing gives listeners a look into the remain-show experience, complete with Etheridge’s acoustic guitar riffs and pleasing harmonies.
